MISSION - WHAT WE DO
ragonSprouts’ primary purpose is to support and grow the Mandarin Immersion program in LAUSD's Local District-West through targeted funding and advocacy. Our goal is to serve as an extension of the classroom. Building community. Paving a path. And creating enriching cultural experiences that sprout bilingual, biliterate and multicultural global citizens.
SERVICES - HOW WE DO IT
Youth Programs Leadership, volunteering, and scholarship opportunities, big brother/sister mentorship program, and homework help, which earns volunteer hours (The President’s Service Award, Scout Service credits, HS Community Service hours). Online Learning Subscriptions to online learning programs and language tools such as eStroke, Skritter and Better Chinese Online. Art & Culture Cultural celebrations & enrichments on-campus and cross-campuses. Opportunities to utilize Mandarin ouside of the classroom through Arts (music, theater, cooking, etc.). Teacher Help Fees for teacher conferences and assistance paying for field trips, teaching resources. Together we help support unique, academically rigorous and enriching opportunities. Classroom and Career Support Providing support (TAs, learning resources, credential sponsorships) to MI classroom instructions. Opportunities for older students to shadow various professions and internships.
