MISSION - WHAT WE DO
The Lynn Harrell Foundation supports musicians and educators of all ages and backgrounds to create collaborative educational and musical experiences. Inspired by the legacy of cellist Lynn Harrell, we embrace the full narrative of each performer and prioritize honest expression and storytelling through the arts.
VISION - GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS
The Lynn Harrell Foundation envisions a world where the barriers to classical music are removed. We see a world full of accessible educational environments in which the individual expression of each person is welcomed and encouraged. We see a world brimming with artists that embrace themselves in all their wondrous complexity and view music or artistic expression as a tool for communication and connection.
SERVICES - HOW WE DO IT
Olivia knows there is something wrong with her grandpa. He has been slowing down and unable to play his cello. In fact, master cellist, Ansel Evans, has been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). As his body shuts down, he makes the difficult decision to minimize the suffering for his closest loved ones by planning one last concert. But this decision won’t be an easy one to explain to Olivia.
