MISSION - WHAT WE DO
A Thousand Joys is a California-based 501c3 nonprofit organization that forms powerful partnerships to shift how educators and service providers engage with youth and families. We incorporate mental health, educational, and leadership expertise to intentionally build an organization’s capacity to counteract trauma and to cultivate resilience.
SERVICES - HOW WE DO IT
Via training, coaching, and consultation, A Thousand Joys upskills and uplifts educators and service providers who serve youth and families. We incorporate mental health, educational, and leadership expertise to intentionally build an organization’s capacity to counteract trauma and to cultivate resilience. We facilitate highly interactive professional development that builds educators’ and service providers’ skills while strengthening teams and learning communities. We encourage participants to candidly engage with each other while tackling challenges, with an eye to developing both individuals’ skills and organizational capacity. Our programs are all grounded in our research-based foundational framework, the ATJ 4Rs of Resilience.
