MISSION - WHAT WE DO

Build Hope, Inc (BHI), was created under the name Kids Progress Inc. (KPI) in 2002 by the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA), to ensure that residents living in the city’s public housing developments receive the full social, health, educational and work opportunities to which they are entitled, and to enhance quality of life, through long-term academic and economic success.

SERVICES - HOW WE DO IT

In addition to fulfilling HACLA’s mandate of safely housing residents, BHI is dedicated to improving life outcomes and addressing intergenerational poverty. Our Key Points of Interest cover Health & Well-being Economic Opportunity: ensuring access to jobs and financial security Resource Resiliency: guaranteeing our residents the basic needs to allow them to pursue their goals with serenity and confidence Education and Enrichment: facilitating opportunities for formal and continuing education, supporting career development We believe these core components of our mission build strong communities. We focus on empowering residents by building on their strengths and putting their unique needs front and center.
