MISSION - WHAT WE DO

The mission of the Institute for Multilingual Education is to support schools, districts, and educational institutions in designing and implementing research-based, high-quality K-12 dual language immersion and world language programs. We aim to cultivate linguistic proficiency, academic achievement, and cultural competence, empowering students to thrive in an increasingly globalized society.

Our vision is to create a multilingual society where every student across the United States has access to effective and sustainable dual language immersion and world language programs. We envision a future where multilingualism is embraced as a vital asset, fostering global citizens who are prepared to lead, collaborate, and innovate in a diverse and interconnected world.

SERVICES - HOW WE DO IT

Program Design and Implementation We specialize in designing and implementing K-12 dual language immersion and world language programs that promote high academic achievement in multiple languages, multilingualism and multiliteracy, and sociocultural competence. We utilize the most current research-based practices in the field and offer support throughout a program’s development. Professional Development We offer professional development that addresses specific needs and challenges faced by educators in multilingual settings. Each workshop is customized to align with the institution’s mission and vision, goals, and priorities. We also provide hands-on support for effective and successful implementation of language programs. Our consultants work alongside educators to deliver professional learning sessions, coaching, and ongoing feedback. We provide personalized coaching and mentorship for educators at all levels. Through one-on-one sessions and collaborative planning, we help teachers implement best practices, reflect on their teaching methods, and develop strategies to meet the diverse needs of their students. Program Evaluation We implement a comprehensive framework for assessing program effectiveness. We develop tailored evaluation frameworks that align with the program goals and objectives. Our approach incorporates measures to provide a holistic view of program effectiveness, student outcomes, and overall impact on the school community.
