MISSION - WHAT WE DO
Humanitarian Day International (HDI) is a product of nearly 25 years of directing Humanitarian Day projects in the US, Ghana, Togo, Ethiopia, Morocco, Malawi, and Indonesia. HDI is one of several projects under ILM Foundation, USA 501 (c)3 a non-profit organization. Our main aims to design successful sustainable projects for holistic family and community development.
SERVICES - HOW WE DO IT
Ghana is known as the gateway to West Africa. The population is about 25 million, of which 42% are children. The country is rich in oil, gold, cocoa, and other natural commodities. It is politically stable, has a middle-income country status, and yet one-fifth of the population still lives in extreme poverty. Orphans in Ghana are normally cared for by their primary and or extended family. However, due to the tremendous economic strain, a larger percentage of orphans are being raised outside the family social safety net. According to the Ghana Demographic and Health Survey 16% of children under the age of 15 are not living with either parent.
