MISSION - WHAT WE DO

Guided by the mission of the Daughters of Charity and by the Core Values of Respect, Quality Service, Simplicity, Advocacy for the Poor, and Inventiveness to Infinity, the Daughters of Charity Foundation works with the Daughters’ ministries of the Province of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton to bring hope, care, and the love of God to those who are in need and whom society chooses to forget.

VISION - GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS

The Daughters of Charity Foundation was established on May 15, 1984 in response to a request from the Daughters of Charity, Province of the West (now known as the Province of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton) to assist in obtaining financial support. Sister Teresa Piro D.C., along with Verle Pozzo, a founding board member, recognized the need for organized financial support for the Daughters of Charity to continue their ministries in hospitals, social services, schools and parishes. Today, the Daughters of Charity Foundation awards subsidies annually to the Daughters’ ministries. Recent funding includes ten schools in California and Arizona, the largest private Meals on Wheels program in the United States, affordable housing for low-income families and seniors, emergency food assistance for communities, a specialized substance abuse program for pregnant women, case management for the unhoused, and programs that serve the elderly, the sick, families and their children.
