MISSION - WHAT WE DO

The WISH mission is to maximize every scholar's learning potential within an atmosphere of caring and belonging. The WISH instructional philosophy rests upon the concepts of hands-on learning, meaningful instructional activities, systematic instruction, and a collaborative group of professionals working together to make the learning environment exciting for students. Evidence-based teaching strategies are tailored to meet individual development providing both academic and social-emotional support.

VISION - GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS

A ONE WISH Campus can bring not only TK-12 children of all abilities and educators together but can also serve as the global headquarters for world renown WISH research to practice program.

SERVICES - HOW WE DO IT

Achievement Each day we see firsthand the positive impact of having students with various strengths and needs, ranging from highly gifted to those with extensive support needs, learning together. And we see it in our ELA and Math test scores that outperform the State of California, consistently doubling the state averages in both subjects and on par with some of the best scores in the country. Educator Support Each year WISH shares our tenets and best practices in education with educators near and far. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation recently provided funding for a series of educational videos called Excellence Together, which focuses on a few of our signature practices and distance learning strategies for educators and families serving students with significant support needs. From appearing on panels and providing regular contributions to academic papers to hosting tours and online webinars, WISH educators welcome the chance to share what’s working for them and learn from others. Community Service Since our beginning, service to the community has been at the heart of the WISH educational experience. Students at WISH begin engaging in service-learning projects in TK and continue with increasingly impactful projects through 12th Grade. Our goal is to create an environment where serving others is an essential part of life at school and in our student’s everyday lives.
